Join us on ANZAC Day Raceday for our traditional tribute to the courageous men and women who have served our nation. 

Free entry for all current ADF personnel and RSL members. Please see booking information below for further details.

A commemorative service will take place in the Mounting Yard at 2.20pm with all current ADF personnel and RSL members invited to participate in the formal proceedings. The Mooney Valley Brass Band will play the Australian National Anthem, Last Post & Rouse.

Jockeys riding horses carrying the Number One saddlecloth will also be wearing a special set of ANZAC Day commemorative colours.

The eight-race program is highlighted by the running of the $201,500 Listed VRC St. Leger (2800m).

VRC Members will receive 100 bonus Racing Rewards points for each raceday they attend for the remainder of the season.

  • Trains
    Special trains run direct to Flemington Racecourse on racedays. 

    Departing Southern Cross Station

    • Trains will depart from Southern Cross Station (platform 8)  at 11:50am and then every 20 minutes until 2:10pm. All trains stop only at North Melbourne Station (platform 2) and then run express to Flemington Racecourse.

    Departing Flemington Racecourse 

    • Trains will depart Flemington Racecourse (platform 1) at 4:27pm, 4:55pm, 5:27pm, 5:48pm, 6:08pm and 6:27pm, stopping only at North Melbourne Station and Southern Cross Station.  
    All train services are wheelchair accessible and passengers who need help boarding trains should wait on the platform near the front of the train.
    Non-racedays: Catch a train to Newmarket station (Craigieburn line) and then either walk (10mins) or take the No. 57 tram to Flemington Drive (stop 30).

    Trams

    From the corner of Elizabeth Street and Flinders Street catch the No. 57 West Maribyrnong tram to Flemington Drive (stop 30).

    Please note, low-floor trams do not run on Route 57 and it is therefore recommended passengers using a mobility aid should catch the train to the racecourse.

    Buses

    Catch Route 472 bus from Williamstown, Footscray or Moonee Ponds to Fisher Parade. Enter Flemington Racecourse via Riverbank entrance.
    Catch Route 404 bus from Footscray or Moonee Ponds to Smithfield Road. Enter Flemington Racecourse via Stables Drive entrance.

    Gentlemen 
    (including children over 12) 

    Gentlemen are required to wear a  suit of tailored slacks (tailored chinos  acceptable), sports coat or blazer, plus  tie and dress shoes. During the period  between 1 December and 31 March  jackets may be removed. Overseas  visitors are welcome to wear the formal national dress of their country.

    Ladies
    (including children over 12)

    Ladies are expected to maintain a  suitable standard in keeping with the  dignity of the Members’ Enclosure.  Younger children accompanied by an  adult must be suitably attired. Overseas  visitors are welcome to wear the formal  national dress of their country.

    Members' Guest 
    As a VRC Member, you have a responsibility to ensure that your guests introduced into the Members’ Enclosure are dressed appropriately, in line with the required dress standard.
