Stanley hopes a summer sizzler is Coming

Sutton Grange-based trainer Brent Stanley hopes to use the summer as a stepping stone to launch talented galloper Coming Around for the autumn.

The talented former Western Australian galloper had his runs well spaced through the spring, with Stanley keen to get his rating up through the summer.

The five-year-old, will be ridden by Mark Zahra from barrier two in the Kennedy Handicap (1400m).

"The races for him during the spring, we diverted (from) so we could try and win some of these through the summer," Stanley said.

"Being from West Australia, he copes with hot weather.

"He is really well the horse, we will just see where he goes now. I'd like to think he can win on Saturday and then we will see where the ratings and the weights take him from there."

Stanley said the barrier would give Coming Around every possible chance.

"It's a good barrier for him. This horse needs to be ridden just off the speed and with a bit of cover," Stanley said.

"His last run there, was first-up, really fresh, drew wide and went forward and just over raced all the way. Then he run good with the weight last start (at Wodonga) and they broke the track record."
