It's been a memorable trip Down Under for Mark Power, and he is hopeful that he can leave the country with one more winner.
Joseph O'Brien's travelling foreman will saddle up Pondus in the Group 3 Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Flemington on Saturday and is expecting a bold performance from the Bendigo Cup runner-up.
It comes just days after the stable won the Lexus Melbourne Cup with tough stayer Twilight Payment.
Pondus will be ridden by Damien Oliver from barrier nine.
"It's been unbelievable. To finish it off with another winner on Saturday would be fantastic," Power said.
"He is coming along well. I think he has improved from his run at Bendigo.
"He strips a little fitter for the run and his work has been good since.
"He will get him to relax, take his time with him. See if he can get cover if he can from there."
Pondus was an eye-catching performer at Bendigo, storming home late to just miss Princess Jenni over 2400m.
He steps up to 2600m on Saturday and Power is confident the increased trip would be no issue.
"(We were) delighted with the run," he said of the Bendigo performance.
"For first-up we thought he would improve for the run and the incident that happened towards the first bend was unfortunate and probably cost us a couple of lengths as well. He was probably an unlucky horse at Bendigo.
"He hit the line well, so I don't think that (2600m) will be the issue."
