The Victoria Racing Club (VRC) is delighted to announce the new dedicated Cup Week website cupweek2020.com.au is now live.
While Australians across the country can enjoy the magic of Cup Week live and free on Network 10, they can also enhance their experience of Australia’s original major event via the new immersive website.
The interactive site will bring the Carnival’s top attractions to life including the world-class racing, entertainment, fashion, food and wine Cup Week is synonymous with.
VRC Executive General Manager Caroline Ralphsmith said the dedicated site is a must visit for all those missing the on-course action at Flemington Racecourse this year.
“Cup Week 2020 will be like no other but we’re thrilled to bring the magic of the event to everyone in Australia,” Ms Ralphsmith said.
“This new site is your one-stop shop for all things Melbourne Cup Carnival, from the latest racing news to what to enjoy for lunch on Lexus Melbourne Cup Day.
“It’s designed for our valued members and all our other usual on-course patrons to connect and engage with us, as well as attract new fans to Australia’s original and most treasured major event.”
Racing is front and centre with digital race books, Melbourne Cup Carnival trivia and historical information about all past runners in the Lexus Melbourne Cup - The Race of Dreams. There will also be unique content including track work from Flemington Racecourse.
While you may not be able to get to Flemington Racecourse, racing fans across Australia can enjoy the classic race day experience from home by ordering food hampers from some of the nation’s best caterers including Flemington’s own Peter Rowland Group and Blake’s Feast, plus drinks from Furphy, Seppelt and G.H. Mumm.
Those looking to bring the glitz and glamour of the race day to their home can get creative and order race day themed decorations from Lenzo and Sports Ink Design. VRC members will have exclusive access to special offers and content to help them celebrate their Cup Week.
“We know that every year our members so look forward to Cup Week and plan their celebrations on track well in advance, which sadly hasn’t been possible this year,” Ms Ralphsmith said.
“While we are still hoping to welcome small crowds to Flemington Racecourse we also want to ensure our members have access to the best possible experience regardless of where they may be watching. These special member-only offers are a way to say thank you to them for their ongoing loyalty and support.”
The 2020 Melbourne Cup Carnival begins with AAMI Victoria Derby Day on Saturday 31 October followed by Lexus Melbourne Cup Day on Tuesday 3 November, Kennedy Oaks Day on Thursday 5 November and Seppelt Wines Stakes Day on Saturday 7 November.
