With six victories already to his name from only 13 starts, talented galloper Sansom looks set to add to his impressive CV on Saturday at Flemington.
The Group-placed gelding by Charm Spirit has only finished outside of the top two on four occasions in his short career and trainer Phillip Stokes believes he will be hard to beat on Saturday.
"He is going extremely well, but he has a good horse's weight," Stokes said.
"If the weight doesn't stop him, I think he'll be right in the finish."
Sansom has had two previous starts at Flemington and finished outside of the placings, but he was beaten fewer than 3.1 lengths on both occasions.
Apprentice Thomas Stockdale, who still claims 2kg, will ride him for the fourth-consecutive time and will be looking to add to the one win and two placings that he has already recorded aboard him.
Snitzkraft will also take his place at Flemington on Saturday, with Campbell Rawiller getting an opportunity for Stokes.
The five-year-old finished behind the in-form Prezado two starts back at the track and distance and Stokes believes he will be right in the mix in what looks an extremely competitive race.
"He is a little sneaky bet I think, he's ready, back in trip, and he loves the straight," he said.
"I'm expecting him to run better tomorrow and I think the claim really helps."
