Maiden galloper Commodus joins the list of other stars such as Alabama Express, Dalasan, Chenier and the like in the $1 million classic, which is the highlight of a nine-race program.

Alligator Blood worked earlier in the week and on Wednesday morning Catalyst took new rider Damian Lane for a gallop at Mornington on the inside grass.

There are nine contenders to race off for a wildcard into the $5 million All-Star Mile on March 14 when they clash in the G2 Blamey Stakes.
