Cup hero headed to Singapore

Lexus Melbourne Cup hero Craig Williams will chase Group 1 wins in two countries this weekend.

Williams, who completed Australian racing's 'grand slam' with victory aboard Vow And Declare on Tuesday, will ride at Flemington on Saturday before jetting to Singapore for the country's premier race day on Sunday.

The 42-year-old will partner Loving Gaby (VRC Sprint Classic) and Aristia (Mackinnon Stakes) at Flemington on Saturday before joining forces with the Lee Freedman-trained Mr Clint in the $1 million Singapore Gold Cup (2000m), a race he won in 2016.

Australia-based jockeys Barend Vorster, Willie Pike and Patrick Moloney will also ride in the Gold Cup on Sunday, along with expatriates Vlad Duric, Daniel Moor and Ben Thompson.

On Friday night, visiting Mornington apprentice Jessica Eaton will ride the Dan Meagher-trained Webster in the G2 EW Barker Trophy (1400m).

Eaton, who is riding at Kranji for three weeks as part of an exchange program between Racing Victoria and the Singapore Turf Club, rode a winner for Meagher at her third ride last Sunday.
