The Victoria Racing Club (VRC) today announced that fashion icon Lindy Klim, her husband Adam Ellis and their family will return to Australia for Seppelt Wines Stakes Day, the Melbourne Cup Carnival’s traditional family day on Saturday 9 November 2019 at Flemington Racecourse.
Fittingly, the trendsetter and lover of the Melbourne Cup Carnival will be a guest judge of the Myer Fashions on the Field family racewear competition as well as boys and girls racewear categories for young entrants aged six to 17.
With Lindy’s children from a previous marriage; Stella (13), Rocco (11), Frankie (8) along with Adam and Lindy’s youngest, Goldie (20months), in tow, the modern family are set to relish the relaxed atmosphere and abundance of free children’s activities on offer during Seppelt Wines Stakes Day.
“My favourite place to be in spring is at Flemington for the Melbourne Cup Carnival and to be with my family at one of my favourite days of the Carnival – Seppelt Wines Stakes Day – is going to be very special,” Lindy said.
“I feel like a veteran when it comes to the Melbourne Cup Carnival, I’ve been attending for years, and over time I have been more and more drawn to the family-friendly, relaxed atmosphere on Stakes Day.
“This will be Goldie’s first race day and the kids are looking forward to showing her the ropes!
“And Stella is a keen horse rider, she’s taking lessons in Bali and can’t wait to see the beautiful thoroughbreds in action at Flemington.”
VRC Executive General Manager Customer Engagement Caroline Ralphsmith said the Club was looking forward to welcoming the Klim and Ellis clan to Flemington on Seppelt Wines Stakes Day.
“Lindy and her gorgeous family are the perfect guests for the Melbourne Cup Carnival’s family day, epitomising style but fully embracing fun,” she said.
“With attractions and activities tailor-made for young and old alike, Seppelt Wines Stakes Day is the day to treasure once-in-a-lifetime family moments.”
Seppelt Wines Stakes Day features two group one races; headlined by the A$2 million weight-for-age Seppelt Mackinnon Stakes, as well as the scorching 1200m A$2 million Darley Sprint Classic.
The final day of the Carnival is all about relaxed style and the opportunity for the young ones to shine.
The Park transforms into a family-friendly wonderland and will include an abundance of free activities alongside delicious treats and magical performances.
