Victoria Racing Club (VRC) Chairman Amanda Elliott has announced the appointment of Mr Neil Werrett to the VRC Board.
“We are delighted to announce Neil’s appointment to the Board of the VRC,” Mrs Elliott said.
“He is a very prominent figure in the racing industry. His ownership interest of Black Caviar and other wonderful horses is well known. Perhaps less well known is his extensive experience in business and real estate.
“Neil will be a great asset to the VRC Board, bringing racing acumen and extensive business experience in both Australia and globally,” Mrs Elliott said.
Mr Werrett is CEO of Galileo Group and Director of Sakura Real Estate Funds Management which is a publicly listed JREIT in Japan.
He holds ownership interests in top thoroughbreds Gailo Chop, Vengeur Masque, Chauffeur, Performer and Sandbar, as well as horses in Ireland, Japan and France. He is a part-owner of the highly successful Vinery Stud in the Hunter Valley.
Mr Werrett fills a vacancy on the VRC Board created by the appointment of Neil Wilson to the position of VRC Chief Executive Officer.
