ANZAC Day Race Day Zone Update
The VRC is pleased to announce that we have been approved to remove the two COVID-safe zones previously required under our 15,000 patron cap, meaning that more members can be accommodated in the Members Enclosure and that spectators can move more freely around the course. For ANZAC Day Race Day, the following applies: The current on-sale process will remain in place and ticketing will still be allocated as Zone 1 or Zone 2, while our race days continue to have a 15,000 patron cap. VRC prepares for review's Cup impact
The 2021 Lexus Melbourne Cup is likely to be immediately impacted by a review into the race, including the prospect of fewer international horses in this year’s event. That’s the view of Victoria Racing Club CEO Steve Rosich, who said the investigation into fatalities of horses in the Cup is near completion. Racing.com understands the report will be released in the last week of April, having been delayed as senior stakeholders finalise their recommendations. In an interview with Racing.com,

ANZAC Day Race Day at Flemington Racecourse to pay respect to past and present military heroes
Removal of COVID-safe zones enables all to participate in commemorative activities. The Victoria Racing Club (VRC) will honour past and present servicemen and women on ANZAC Day Race Day on Sunday 25 April at Flemington Racecourse, with a special commemorative service, wartime displays and Two Up alongside top-quality racing, with the removal of two strictly segregated COVID-safe zones meaning members and patrons can move more freely around the course to partake in the memorial activities. Bivouac's chance to exceed Excel
Bivouac's unplaced performance in last Saturday's Group 1 T.J. Smith Stakes wasn't the swansong that Godolphin officials would have desired but attention has already turned towards his career as a stallion. Bivouac, a son of Exceed and Excel, finished fifth of nine starters in the $2.5 million 1200-metre sprint, holding his ground in midfield without threatening last season's Australian Horse of the Year Nature Strip.

Sires' illuminates 'straightforward' Lightsaber
Luke Nolen believes the professional attitude of two-year-old Lightsaber allows him to win the $1m G1 Inglis ATC Sires' Produce (1400m) at Randwick on Saturday. Whilst many juveniles are preoccupied with the mental challenges of the racetrack in their first few starts, Lightsaber's focus has been unflinching as he keeps matters simple on the pace. Lightsaber

Hawkes Racing pays $2.5m for Snitzel colt
Yearning might have been beaten on debut, but Hawkes Racing gave a strong indication of how highly it rates the daughter of Snitzel on Day 1 at the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale. The training team of John, Wayne and Michael Hawkes went to $2.5 million for the brother to the two-year-old filly, who is out of the ATC Oaks winner and Caulfield Cup runner-up Rising Romance. “We’ve
