Fifth Lexus Melbourne Cup ballot exempt race to be introduced from 2019

The Victoria Racing Club (VRC) and Racing Victoria (RV) are pleased to announce that The Andrew Ramsden at Flemington will be a ballot exempt race for the Lexus Melbourne Cup from 2019 onwards. The winner of The Andrew Ramsden will gain direct entry into the $7.3 million Lexus Melbourne Cup of that year. Named after former VRC Chairman Andrew Ramsden (1998 – 2003), the race has received a $200,000 boost in prizemoney to reach $400,000 and will be run on Saturday 25 May 2019 over 2800m.
