A festival of food and fun to awaken the senses.
Nothing pairs better with heart-stopping Group 1 thoroughbred racing, than an exquisite feast for the senses taking place this Australian Guineas Day.
This celebrated race day will see an explosion of heavenly tastes and aromas greet racegoers from the very moment they arrive.
Here’s just a ‘taste’ of what you can look forward to: a super-sized Front Lawn Beer Garden with pop-up restaurants, roving wine tastings and multiple stages featuring live music; circus-themed fun, carnival rides and games for the kids in the brand new Little Big Top in The Picnic Lawn; and a specialty curated menu by Nick Mahlook, Soda Fish Lakes Entrance and Bodee Price, Brown Brothers Restaurant across selected dining venues and restaurants.
Along with the food-focused festival atmosphere, the racing excitement will be super-sized too. The day boasts a blue-blooded, Group 1 line-up featuring the $1,000,000 Group 1 Kennedy Australian Guineas (1600m). Witness the best three-year-olds in training charging to the Winning Post in this stallion-making race.
Zone 1 (Members Enclosure) covers the Members Enclosure, including Members Lawn and Members Betting Ring, plus Hill Stand levels 1 and 3 and the Hill Stand seating decks, and offers both reserved and unreserved ticket types.
The unreserved spaces in Zone 1 are a whole new experience designed just for VRC members. Along with favourites like the Betting Ring, the Bluegrass Bar and the ground floor spaces of The Club Stand, we've also created The Parade Deck, an amazing space looking out over the track and the parade ring. In addition we extended the members enclosure to also include Hill Stand level 1 so be sure to explore Hill Stand level 1, the Pano Pub and Sky Lounge too - all part of Zone 1 Members Enclosure. Casual seating, a great pub atmosphere, outdoor seating decks with stellar track views, plus fab food and beverages for all tastes.

Kids will love the carnival rides and games, face painting and circus-themed entertainment under the Little Big Top in The Picnic Lawn. Reserve a space for your picnic rug or book a picnic table to enjoy all the family-friendly fun, plus cocktails from the golden-winged bar and rails access for every race. BYO picnic bites or purchase from our retail food outlets nearby.
Situated above the Front Lawn, The Furphy Deck has unbeatable views of the track and Winning Post. With a tasty grazing menu and beverages, the action is non-stop on and off the racetrack, as the good times keep rolling!
Our popular beer garden will be super-sized and overflowing with excitement for Australian Guineas Day! We’re adding pop-up restaurants, roving wine tastings and multiple stages featuring live music. Book a table to enjoy all this plus VIP track, Winning Post and super screen views.
Elegance and excitement have always gone hand in hand in The Terrace Restaurant. Indulge in a 6 course degustation designed by Nick Mahlook, Soda Fish Lakes Entrance and Bodee Price, Brown Brothers Restaurant, while taking in all the racing action from your uninterrupted views of the track and personal flat screen TV.
You won’t miss a minute of the racing action with spectacular views of the Flemington Straight and Winning Post from your reserved seat in The Hill Stand. In addition to an allocated seat for the day, you’ll also have access to The Hill Stand bars and food outlets, plus your own table inside to enjoy between races.

With his distinctive white markings and a memorable sprinting career on the track, Apache Cat is a crowd favourite. 2021 marks 15 years since Apache Cat won the Group 1 Australian Guineas in 2006, so we take a look back at his career and provide an update on his recent battle with cancer.
The VRC is a proud partner of Very Special Kids, an incredible organisation that provides respite, family counselling and end-of-life care to children with life-threatening conditions. In a lovely connection, the charity’s founder and Patron, Sister Margaret Noone has roots in racing that extend back many decades.
