Friday Twilight Racing - Arrive early afternoon stay til late
Get ready for the return of Resimax Group Rapid Racing, running soon at Flemington, your summer home of racing.
The action starts early and won’t let up when this crowd favourite returns to the Flemington Summer Racing Twilight Series on Friday January 29th. Get to the track early and enjoy an evening of sprints and a quick 30 minute gap between races. This shorter, punchier program will see a seven-race card where all races will be run down the famous Flemington straight. Cheer on your favourite as the horses run sprint distances ranging from 1000m – 1200m, while the second running of the Jockeys Challenge Trophy will see Victoria’s top metropolitan and country riders face off in a team competition.
Be sure you’re in early enough to enjoy every delightful minute of the $5-Before-5 beer and wine specials on offer across Flemington. Or get in touch with your inner Italian by enjoying an elegant apertivo, like a Champagne Spritz or ice-cold Negroni, and something light and fresh to nibble alongside.
If a dining experience is more your style, the Rapid Racing format plus dinner and a show is sure to keep you
entertained all evening.
As the racing wraps up, the night is just beginning. The Front Lawn Beer Garden and Picnic Lawn bookings will enjoy live music and livelier conversation as you debrief on the big races and wins of the day. Settle in for some quality viewing as Ride Like a Girl and The Goonies fills the outdoor cinema screen in the Picnic Lawn. Or just savour a sunset cocktail or two with your mates, while the sunset lights up the magnificent Melbourne skyline.
If you prefer the atmosphere of the retail bars across the course, the live music and sunset cocktails are sure to keep you in the summer mood until its time to go home.
When the night finally comes to a close, rest assured that public transport and trains will be running late, to get you home safely. And if you are tuning in from home, be sure to catch all the action live from the track via our partners:
Racing.com, RSN and TAB.
