Gates open 10:50am • First race 11:50am • Last race 4:50pm
Join us for a day of recognition and racing.
Recognition Race Day acknowledges the valued contribution of past and current officials, partners, and employees of the VRC.
On the track, the feature race sees the apprentices take centre stage with the final of the Wilson Medic One Rising Star series, while the Byerley Handicap provides an opportunity for promising young stayers to earn ballot exemption for this year’s Group 1 AAMI Victoria Derby and/or Group 1 Kennedy Oaks.
For our members in The Club Stand, Christmas comes early in The Dining Room with a sumptuous traditional Christmas feast, carolers and a special visit from Santa. The Roof Garden will transform into a rollicking comedy lounge, where some of Melbourne’s best comedians will have you laughing the day away. In Saintly Place, all racegoers can enjoy a game of billiards and a bevvy in The Lounge.
Take in the lively atmosphere of The Atrium from the comfort of our cosy lounge bar. Sink into leather chesterfield lounges and surround yourself in snuggly textures with a drink in hand, all while taking in the racing action live on TV.
The high-backed club chairs, crackling fireplaces and equestrian memorabilia in The Club Stand lobby will make the perfect space to stay cosy during winter racing. Relaxing live music will entertain you between races while our waiters serve from a menu of light bites and winter drinks.
Get ready for a rollicking race day as Australia’s most talented comedians take over The Roof Garden of The Club Stand.
Family Bistro in The View is especially designed for young families to experience winter racing together over the school holidays. With an indoor jungle gym, arcade games and a silent cinema, there’s hours of entertainment for you and your family to enjoy.
Witness every finish while relaxing with mates in The Lounge inside Saintly Place West this winter. With quick access to the Winning Post, comfy lounges, billiards and foosball, craft beers, dude-food favourites and live tunes, The Lounge is the best spot to enjoy all the racing action and is a free space for all racegoers.
Champions of the turf, Brew (Stall 86) and Fields of Omagh (Stall 87), will be joining us at Flemington to meet their fans. Meet these legends as they parade around the Mounting Yard throughout the day (12:35pm and 1:45pm approximately).
