Black Caviar, The Great Horse Raceday returns in 2019 with exceptional racing, delicious food and entertainment that will WOW!
Witness some of the world’s fastest horses in the Group 1 Black Caviar Lightning (1000m), named after the legendary mare whose stellar career consisted of 25 undefeated races.
Celebrate the influence of Asian culture in Melbourne through experiences focused on food and entertainment. A hawker-style food market will feature some of Melbourne’s favourite Asian restaurants. A curated bar offering will include cocktails such as Lychee Martinis and Yuzu Sours, sake by the glass, Kirin beer and more. Live music and themed entertainment will provide plenty of fun while the return of ‘The Lucky Wall’ will give you a chance to win some amazing prizes, including a 49” Smart TCL TV, TAB vouchers and Flemington food & beverage vouchers.

Experience a hawker-style food market at Flemington featuring some of Melbourne’s favourite Asian restaurants. Located in the breezeway outside Saintly Place.
Take your pick from ‘The Lucky Wall’ for a chance to win amazing prizes. Simply take photos of yourself in front of the Black Caviar lucky characters including the Great Horse, Chinese New Year Pig and Lucky Cat, upload to social media with #GreatHorse and show us to pick a card, any card!
Living Legends Apache Cat and Silent Witness will be joining us at Flemington. See them parade in the Mounting Yard and hanging out in the horse stalls throughout the day.
The Flemington Family Lawn will be given an Asian flare with Japanese hand fan art and origami crafts, cherry blossom and lotus face painting, dragon balloon art, giant Chinese checkers plus plenty of themed games and activities to keep the kids entertained all day long.
The loveliest and liveliest sides of Tokyo is here to explore as we celebrate the influence of Asian culture in Melbourne. VRC Young Members and their guests can indulge in Japanese inspired street food, cocktails and a Sing-Sing competition (Karaoke).
