Attending the 2020 VRC Annual General Meeting

The Annual General Meeting of members of Victoria Racing Club Limited (VRC Ltd) will be held on Wednesday 16th December 2020 at 3.00pm (AEDT). The meeting will be held as a virtual meeting to protect the health of our members and staff. This decision was taken early in anticipation of continuing COVID-19 restrictions.

Registration opens: 2:30pm AEDT, Wednesday, 16th December 2020

Meeting start time: 3:00pm AEDT, Wednesday, 16th December 2020

Once you access the site you will be asked to enter your VRC Member Number and your date of birth.

On the site you’ll find key meeting information including; instructions on how to ask a question and various AGM documentation that you can access such as:

QUESTIONS TO THE BOARD

The VRC invited members to submit questions in advance prior to the meeting at vrcagmquestions@vrc.net.au. These will be answered during question time.

If you have a question that you’d like to ask during the meeting, a link will be provided that enables you to submit your question once you successfully register above. These questions will be moderated and passed on to the VRC Board and Executive to answer at the allocated point during the meeting. The VRC will aim to answer as many questions as possible during the time allotted, giving priority to those most frequently asked.

ELECTION OF DIRECTORS

Following the nominations process, the VRC received SIX (6) nominations for FIVE (5) positions on the Board. 

Candidates

The order of candidates as they appear on this page and on the ballot paper, has been determined by lot by the Returning Officer.

The candidates offering themselves for election are:

  1. Neil Wilson, a director whose term in office expires at the conclusion of the Annual General Meeting. 
  2. David Barham, a director whose term in office expires at the conclusion of the Annual General Meeting. 
  3. Elisa Robinson (nee Sturzaker).
  4. Vin Cox, a director whose term in office expires at the conclusion of the Annual General Meeting. 
  5. Michael Saadie, a director whose term in office expires at the conclusion of the Annual General Meeting. 
  6. Glenn Carmody a director whose term in office expires at the conclusion of the Annual General Meeting. 

The successful candidates will join directors Michael Ramsden (Vice Chairman), Katherine Bourke, Sophie Cornell, Neil Werrett and CEO Steve Rosich on the VRC Board.

Candidate etiquette

  • You should not expect to hear from candidates (or anyone representing their interests) directly unless they are already well known to you and it would be reasonable for you to expect an approach of that kind.  
  • Candidates are not to use the Club’s online platforms, including social platforms, grounds, intellectual property or other assets to assist their campaigns (other than incidental background imagery in photographs).
  • Candidates are not to mislead or make derogatory statements.
