Intermediate Kids

To streamline the competition and reduce waiting times for contestants, friends and parents, registration rolls immediately into Heats.
As each group of approximately 20 entrants of the same sex receive their contestant cards, they will be formed into a group and move almost immediately onstage for their heat.

11.20am - Heats

A Specialist Judging Panel will select their top one or two contestants from each heat. The criteria for judging is based on "Fun and Fashionable Racewear". Click here for the full Judging Criteria.
While the group is still onstage, the MC will announce the contestant/s who will progress to the appropriate Intermediate Final and then the group will file off stage.
Contestants not selected to progress in the competition will be given a gift bag on departing the Emirates Stakes Day Fashions on the Field Enclosure and will have the opportunity to have their contestant card signed by a Seven Network or sporting celebrities as they exit. Parents are encouraged to wait at the exit point and then as soon as they have connected with their child, to move away from the area as quickly as possible.
Contestants selected to progress in the competition will be asked to wait until the conclusion of the heats, when they will be briefed as a group about their requirements for the Intermediate Finals later the same day.
Following this briefing (at approx 12noon), the Intermediate Finalists will be free to leave.

12.30pm - Intermediate Finals Registration

All boy and girl Intermediate Finalists will be asked to return to the Emirates Stakes Day Fashions on the Field Enclosure at 12.30pm sharp. If a finalist has not presented themselves to event staff by 12.30pm they will be disqualified from the competition.

12.40pm - Intermediate Final - Boys

An expanded panel of judges will select their top three contestants in priority order, awarding 5, 3 or 1 point/s
The contestant with the highest score at the end of the Intermediate Boys Final, will be named the "Intermediate Boys Winner of Emirates Stakes Day Fashions on the Field for 2010" and will receive the major prize for this category.

12.50pm - Intermediate Final - Girls

An expanded panel of judges will select their top three contestants in priority order, awarding 5, 3 or 1 point/s
The contestant with the highest score at the end of the Intermediate Girls Final, will be named the "Intermediate Girls Winner of Emirates Stakes Day Fashions on the Field for 2010" and will receive the major prize for this category.
