Benefits of Junior Membership
The Victoria Racing Club would like to extend an invitation to individuals between the ages of 12-17 to join what promises to be a Membership Program of exceptional value and enjoyment.
The Membership Department is now offering a VRC Junior Membership Program, which aims to educate young people about the broader aspects of the racing industry and provide a sense of belonging whilst at the races in a safe and enjoyable environment that is alcohol and gambling free.
The structure of the VRC Junior Membership Program includes:
- Annual Fee $70
- Elevation from VRC Junior Membership status to Full Membership will occur at the commencement of the Racing Season after the Junior Member has reached 18 years of age
- Membership Card
- Admission to the Racecourse on all racedays
- Admission to the Members' Enclosures on all racedays excluding Derby, Cup & Oaks Days*
- Admission to the Members' Reserved Car Parks on all days of the Melbourne Cup Carnival**
- Access to the exclusive Member offers, events, publications and merchandise
The progression from Junior Membership to Full Membership is offered at the commencement to those Junior Members who:
- Are 18 years of age
- Have been Junior Members for one complete Racing Season
- Are approved by the VRC Board***
* Please note that VRC Junior Members do not have access to Full Members Only areas
** Excluding the Birdcage Enclosure
*** Upon Board approval, Junior Members elevated to Full Membership will be required to pay the Joining Fee
As is the current practice with children under 18 years, VRC Junior Members must be accompanied by an adult when entering licensed venues. Underage gambling is also illegal and will not be condoned or offered at events specifically staged for VRC Junior Members.
